The works of O'Brien do not appear for sale very often. This is an excellent oil painting by a talented local artist who exhibited at the Laing Art Gallery, Newcastle and owned his own gallery in Sunderland from the late '60s.

Alfred Ainslie O'Brien 1912 - 1988
O'Brien was born in Sunderland and was a painter in oil and watercolours. He bacame very popular during the '60s and '70s and attracted national recognition for his work. In the late '60s he opened his own gallery in Sunderland.
Exhibited at the Laing Art Gallery, Newcastle, Margaret Fisher Gallery, London and Bede Gallery, Jarrow.
