Howey, a very well known Northern artist from Hartlepool, has painted a stunning little oil painting of his home town. He exhibited his works at the Royal Scottish Academy and the Laing Art Gallery, Newcastle.

Robert Leslie Howey (1900 - 1981)
Robert was the son of a well known amateur artist John William Howey. He was born in West Hartlepool and after studying at art school he became a professional artist working in Hartlepool. He exhibited his works at the Royal Scottish Academy and the Laing Art Gallery, Newcastle. He is particularly well known for his coastal scenes.
