Cavendish Morton 1911-
Lindisfarne Castle, Northumberland
A dramatic watercolour of the castle at Lindisfarne (also known as Holy Island) Northumberland. Cavendish Morton comes from a well respected family of Scottish artists and his watercolours are sought after. Examples of his work are held by The British Museum and Glasgow Museum amongst others.

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
Cavendish Morton 1911-
Born in Edinburgh son of the artist Cavendish Morton with whom he studied and twin brother of the artist Concord Morton with whom he produced joint work. Cavendish Morton was a member of RI, ROI, SGA and NS whose subjects included notable aeroplanes and ships. For a time he was art therapist to Hartismere Hospital in Eye, Suffolk, where he lived. Showed at RA, RBA, in the provinces and abroad and had a number of solo exhibitions. British Museum, Contemporary Art Society and several provincial collections hold examples. Settled in Bembridge, Isle of Wight.
