The artist William Mellor was born in Barnsley, Yorkshire, and
specialised in local landscapes as well as the landscapes of North Wales
and the Lake District. He lived in Yorkshire throughout his life,
residing in Ilkley, Scarborough and lastly Harrogate.
William Mellor's oil paintings often feature well-known views such as
Bolton Abbey and scenes featuring rivers such as the Wharfe and Nidd or
the majestic lakes of Grasmere and Ullswater.
