rigid Wright was a painter and illustrator who lived in Shropshire and the Welsh Borders and exhibited extensively from the 1960s until her early death in 2000 at many north and mid Wales galleries. She also held many solo exhibitions including those at the Oriel, Cardiff, Leicester University and Hereford City Art Gallery. She attended Lincoln School of Art and later at Leicester School of Art.
Although her paintings are firmly rooted in the landscapes of Mid Wales where she did so much of her work, they take on an identity of their own, bringing together the body and spirit of the landscape and setting it in the universe, producing paintings with a touch of the supernatural, asprimordial and mystical qualities.
An outstanding and very beautiful example of this Welsh artist's work.
