There is little known about this artist who signed his work E Nevil. This may of course have been a pseudonym, and is most likely as his work is often seen. He was working around 1880-1900 and travelled widely to paint, his continental scenes include Bruge, Antwerp and Rheims, and he seemed to favour the Northern Counties of England although he is known to have painted in Wales. He was predominantly a watercolourist, but oils by him have been seen.
