A wonderful train station scene by Yardley, a very talented British artist, his style being compared to that of Edward Sego.
Watercolour 9" x 13" Signed
Painter in oil and watercolour, born in Yorkshire. His work was compared to that of Edward Sego, having a similar deftness in depicting the fleeting scene in light effects in Britain and abroad. Yardley had no formal training, but began drawing while very young. He began painting in 1953 after completing his National Service and when retired from banking in 1986 took it up full time. In 1989 he gained the Catto Gallery Award for work shown at the RWS Open Exhibition and in 1990 was awarded the Watercolour Foundation Prize for work shown at RI and was elected to membership. Had solo shows at Catto Gallery. Lived in Reigate, Surrey.
