Gordon King (b.1939-)

Watercolourist and illustrator, born in London. Studied life drawing and painting at Reading University School of Art. After training as an illustrator with Carlton Studios at 22 he went freelance, working for magazines and advertising agencies, illustrating books and developing his portraits and paintings. As well as solo exhibitions King showed at RA Summer Exhibitions, RI and sold his prints in limited and signed editions. Among his favourite subjects were girls in floral garden, his daughter and friends being models.
